What Is a Milk Cake?
Also known as Tres Leches, milk cake is a soft vanilla sponge soaked in three kinds of milk, giving it an extra moist texture that is rich but never overly sweet. It actually tastes even better the next day, once the milk has fully soaked through the sponge.
A Bit of History
Tres Leches is widely believed to have Latin American roots, though some trace its influence back to the English trifle. Either way, the idea of soaking sponge in milk to keep it moist and flavorful has been around for a long time, and we think our version does it justice.
